About Graveyard Shift

Stephen King took you to the edge with The Shining and Pet Sematary. This time... he pushes you over. From horror master Stephen King comes his most terror-filled take yet. Gates Falls, Maine. When an abandoned textile mill is reopened, several employees meet mysterious deaths. The link between the killings: all occurred between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. - the Graveyard Shift. The sadistic mill foreman (Stephen Macht) has chosen a group to clean up the mill's rat-infested basement. But what the workers find is a subterranean maze of tunnels leading to the cemetery - and an unimaginable horror that comes alive in the dead of the night.

This is not a review--- just thought I'd tell everyone about my first week on what they call "overnights" nowadays. It's not bad, just...different. As a manager, I get a lot less B.S. at night, all there is to do is get the freight out for the next day. Keep pushin' the crew, get the back room empty, drink 14 Red Bulls.... yeah, it's a party. And I bet some of my Amazon bros know what I'm talkin' about. Supposedly I'm back on days in Feb, so we'll see what's left of me by then.

There have been many films made that are scary and are based on Stephen King novels/short stories.

This is not one of them.

This movie is really, really badly made. Yes, the story concerns rats, a giant basement, workers....

the short story was OK...but, this film....No

The acting, the "special effects", the constant sweating of the main character (ha ha)....too much to mention

The only thing that would make this movie watchable is if the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 crew could come back... This is one of those types of movies. ....

I made my own jokes throughout this movie, but I am not as funny of a writer as the MST3K folks.

Anyways, this movie proves that bad B movies werent just made in the 50s-80's....the 90's chalked up some MST3K-worthy stuff all it's own

If you want to see a Stephen King adaptation that is scary....get something else. Plenty of others to pick from. Allright then. June 25, 2008

wow so this drifter picks up a job, and these truly disgraceful actors in a town no one cares about, interact with the dude that is working the deadend shift, and there is this big rat monster, and no one really cares what happens, because nothing does happen, and its awful, oh no, its so, so awful, it is so so horribly bad, WHY? because it doesn't take you anywhere, it is not scary at all, the cover of the DVD has nothing even remotely to do with the film, the acting is some of the worst on record, and any attempt by any of the elitist to tell you its full of cinematic grandeur, need to get their head examined.

Truly a 0.5 star. HORRIFIC. April 23, 2008

I typically don't like movies that have been adapted from Stephen King's books. Having said that, I did like this movie. Maybe it's because it was from one of his short stories, I don't know. One movie I hated was "IT". The book was awesome, the film[...]. Anyway, back to this film, a drifter (Hall) wanders into a small northeastern mill town looking for work. He arrives at this mill and decides to request the open position of operating a picker machine. The boss (Mr. Warwick) is an asshole, and his co-workers are even worse. Hall begins to notice that this particular mill has a rodent infestation problem. This rodent problem is actually much larger than anyone at the mill knows. The mill workers eventually come together against their boss and the evil lurking in the mill's sub-basement. This film follows the story exactly. Great horror film. February 22, 2008

I work in a factory. I work the graveyard shift. I like Stephen King movies. Its only natural that I check out this film, being a horror film fan as well. The cover to the dvd is awesome; the first release not the new cover. I thought this movie was awesome. Brad Dourif has to be one of the most underrated actors of all time. Sure his films arent always critic pleasing, but hes a damn good entertainer. Stephen Macht also does a great job at being the foreman. The movie was kind of slow at first, but does pick up towards the end. I highly recommend this movie to King's fans or horror movie fans in general. I just cant believe people didnt like this film, it was really fun to watch. October 1, 2007
