Luciano Pavarotti & Friends: For the Children of Liberia (1998)

Among the best concert DVDs

While I have not heard all of the Pavarotti and Friends concerts I dare say that Concert for the children of Liberia is so good it can't possibly be topped by the others.

With a lineup that includes Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder, The Spice Girls, Jon Bon Jovi and Natalie Cole among others it is simply the best. If you've never heard of Italian bluesman Zucchero you're in for an impressive performance.

Both video and audio quality are excellent and I wonder why this concert is not available today on DVD. A DVD release should sell easily considering that Pavarotti is no longer with us to give us more. November 17, 2007

ONE OF THE BEST CONCERTS THAT PAVAROTTI HAS DONE.

I HAVE THE VHS AND THE CD VERSION. I SEEM TO HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THE DVD VERSION. ANYWAY, YOU HAVE THE GREAT LATE TENOR SINGING HIS HEART OUT WITH THE LIKES OF: THE CORRS, VANESSA WILLIAMS, NATALIE COLE, CELINE DION, BON JOVI AND OTHERS. SINCE HIS PASSING, THE WORLD HAS LOST A GREAT VOICE AND FUNDRAISER FOR CHILDREN. DIRECTED BY THE GREAT SPIKE LEE, YOU HAVE STEVIE WONDER SINGING THE FINAL SONG IN ITALIAN. VANESSA WILLIAMS DOES A LITTLE DANCE ROUTINE AKA LATIN FLAVOR WITH "BETCHA NEVER". FAMOUS ITALIAN SINGERS: EROS RAMAZZOTTI, ZUCCHERO, WHICH MEANS SUGAR IN ITALIAN. A GREAT RENDITION OF TONIGHT FROM WEST SIDE STORY WITH NATALIE AND LUCIANO. MY VHS TAPE STILL PLAYS GREAT, BUT I WANT THE DVD VERSION. I HOPE THAT I CAN FIND THIS ENTERTANING CONCERT. THANK YOU.
