About Peter Pan
Peter Pan has a special place in the realm of classic animated Disney films: it instills an element of childlike wonder. The 1953 version of James M. Barrie's story is colorfully told and keeps on the straight and narrow of the book. Barrie's wondrous focus on child's play is the key to its longevity: kids who don't grow up, shadows that run away from their owners, pirates, a fairy, and the magic ability to fly. In short, you can't help wishing the adventure would happen to you. Fueled by a few memorable songs (the stunner being "You Can Fly") and the strong impression of the pixie fairy Tinkerbell and the goofy Captain Hook, Disney's version of this story neither supplants nor lessens the Broadway version with Mary Martin that was produced for television the same decade. Unlike some classics, Peter Pan never ages along the way. --Doug Thomas Amazon.com

I love this film, always have, always will. HOWEVER the color restoration turned practically every characters' hair red. Wendy and John certainly never had red hair before. Although the original color is dated, it is much more beautiful.
September 27, 2008The DVD came the next day after I ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised and watched the DVD that evening. It was a great purchase.
September 14, 2008Peter Pan is a very clever and well-thought out Disney film. I have always enjoyed this film but parts are a bit slow so I can't give this classic a perfect rating. Peter Pan and Tinkerbell are pure magic, love his childlike spunk and her stubborn atttitude! Great family flick, enjoy.
August 18, 2008The Peter Pan cartoon is a classic, but the problem with this DVD is that Disney put about two hours of previews on this DVD set that you are forced to sit through before the actual movie comes on. You can try to forward through these previews, but it still takes quite awhile to click through them all. It's too bad that advertising is Disney's first priority.

A classic in every sense of the word. My kids both love it, and watch it at least twice a week. I love how well they did cleaning the film up and making it like new again. A must have for any Disney video collection.
