This is by far my all time favorite Sci-Fi movie because it plays on every element of a good film: Action, drama, mystery, horror, and even some comedy. I dare you to find a better story that was put together in a better way. October 15, 2008

I have no idea about the Arrival II - All I know is is that (the original) The Arrival (with Charlie Sheen) is one awesome conspiracy theorist dream wrt alien implantation and take over of the world. A fantastic movie.

And this is what puzzles me... why has this movie been ignored for so many years. Jodie Foster was the star of a complementary movie Contact, (done within a year of this one), and in my opinion, was a joke compared to The Arrival. Matter of fact, as a scientific matter, the entire beginning of the movie Contact was a farce - and virtually impossible.

All I'm saying is that so much of what 'The Arrival' employed on screen, was so easily probable. But 99.9% of Contact was beyond dreamland. The Arrival utilized a real world plot, and Contact was a total joke.

I love 'The Arrival'. It is indeed sad that it fell by the wayside. Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Crouse, Terri Polo, Ron Silver, and Richard Schiff deserve a lot more credit for their roles in this movie. If you haven't seen it, you have missed a fantastic, ultimate sci-fi thriller movie that will leave you wondering... 'what if'. If you have seen it, then you know where I'm coming from.

"Arrival" has quite a bit going for it, but "Arrival 2" is a bit stretched. I would give "Arrival" at least 3 1/2 stars, but only 2 1/2 to "Arrival 2". The reason the first movie has so much going for it is the suspense, action, and acting. Good story with the trickling in of information that shows we aren't alone on our planet. Casting is good with Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Crouse, and Ron Silver. The story centers around Sheen tracking unusual data transmissions that lead him to a corporation that is carrying on operations that they don't want revealed at any cost, including murder. One of the things I respected about "Arrival" is the intelligence and cunning of the enemy. No blasting away and wiping things out, quite the contrary. If you enjoyed these be sure to catch "Alienation" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Good quality DVD with decent replayability. April 11, 2008

Not the most inspirational DVD; however, it does have some fair acting, a decent ploy and a number of suspenseful moments. Worth the money for the entertainment value. March 16, 2008
