And this is what puzzles me... why has this movie been ignored for so many years. Jodie Foster was the star of a complementary movie Contact, (done within a year of this one), and in my opinion, was a joke compared to The Arrival. Matter of fact, as a scientific matter, the entire beginning of the movie Contact was a farce - and virtually impossible.
All I'm saying is that so much of what 'The Arrival' employed on screen, was so easily probable. But 99.9% of Contact was beyond dreamland. The Arrival utilized a real world plot, and Contact was a total joke.
I love 'The Arrival'. It is indeed sad that it fell by the wayside. Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Crouse, Terri Polo, Ron Silver, and Richard Schiff deserve a lot more credit for their roles in this movie. If you haven't seen it, you have missed a fantastic, ultimate sci-fi thriller movie that will leave you wondering... 'what if'. If you have seen it, then you know where I'm coming from.
