Chick Norris' "An Eye for An Eye" followed "The Octagon" and while the fight scenes were not anywhere as good in this movie as the ninja crazed flick, it did bolster nice performances from Christopher Lee, Mako, and yes, Chuck Norris. Here Chuck begins to finally appear somewhat comfortable as an actor. Prof. Tanaka (the really big villain) looks intimidating, but the final fight scene between him and Chuck is very limited. Matter of fact, Chuck's fight scenes appear more in line with his character. He is as Mako asserts, a little sloppy at times, but believable as one tough cop.

I want to give this movie 4 stars. Mainly because it has Mako, and Prof. Toru Tanaka. But without Chuck's 'stache...I can't. In all seriousness though. this movie is actually one of my favorites by Chuck. It's got a touch of the dectective story to it. The acting is better than usual in a chuck Norris flick. And, most importantly, the fight scenes are good.

I can't speak for anyone else, but when it comes to martial arts films, one thing matters above all else and that's fight scene choreography. Of course different eras and styles have different standards. As far as American martial arts, Chuck is still the standard in my opinion...all due respect to Billy Blanks, Cynthia Rothrock, et al. This title, along with a few others, show Chuck's prowess as a martial artist in a way that later became lost in an array of spinning back fists, round house kicks and cheesy scripts (can anyone say, "The President's Man"?).

Overal this movie is fun, with some good fight scenes and a memorable performance by the Professor. Definately worth a view!! February 15, 2008

An Eye For An Eye is easily one of Chuck Norris' best films, and not surprisingly, it's not because this is an Oscar-caliber film, or because it breaks some new ground.

Rather, An Eye For An Eye is great because it does what it's supposed to do very, very well. In fact, this is the first film of Norris' that really holds up well. In it, he plays a San Francisco cop who's partner gets killed during an arrest. A conspiracy develops that engulfs Norris, his dead partner's fiance who happens to be a TV news reporter, and Norris' martial arts instructor, played by Mako.

The fight scenes in this film are some of Norris' best, and having the fearsome wrestler/actor Professor Toru Tanaka as the main henchman in the film doesn't hurt either. Mako provides great comic relief, and Richard Roundtree is solid as Norris' superior officer.

An Eye For An Eye is a great martial arts/action film. One that Chuck Norris can be very proud to have on his list of credits.

This movie is for Chuck Norris Fans Only (Like Me). The movie is good and has some nice fights but seems a bit old for today standards.

The DVD quality is good but you're not getting any special features en the Menu, just the movie with optional subs and the trailer.

But if you like Chuck Norris and B-Action films, you must see this movie or add it to your collection. March 20, 2006

An Eye for an Eye gives you the feeling it was shot in Chuck's prime. It has a number of great actors other than Chuck - Christopher Lee, Mako and even Professor Toru Tanaka!. I didn't purchase the MGM version from the US as this page states it is in Pan & Scan. A widescreen version is available in Australia (Region 4) which I'm sure Amazon could order in for diehard fans. Brilliant! January 4, 2005
