About Pet Sematary Two

After the death of his wife, veterinarian Chase Matthews (Anthony Edwards, TV's ER) and his 13-year-old son Jeff (Edward Furlong, Terminator 2: Judgement Day) move to Ludlow to rebuild their lives. Antagonized by the neighborhood kids, Jeff befriends another outsider, Drew Gilbert, who lives in fear of his cruel stepfather Gus (Clancy Brown, Highlander). After Gus cold-bloodedly shoots Drew's beloved dog, the boys bury the body in the local Indian burial grounds - a place rumored to have powers of resurrection. When evil is awakened, the boys realize that sometimes you should just led dead dogs lie.

rating: 2 QuoteSo dissapointing, nothing like the first film.Quote
While the first film had a more serious tone and managed to be an excellent and scary horror film, this sequel was the opposite. Instead of being scary it was more laughable, the characters just weren't that interesting especially Edward Furlong who was at the time one of the worst child actors I've ever seen. The characters in this film were paper thin and you just didn't care for them unlike in the first film and the sequel all of a sudden has these cheesy moments that come out of nowhere and it was definitely more over the top than the first, it also had more gore and was bloodier but that doesn't necessarily mean that it was better infact it's much worse. Edward Furlong and veterinarian dad Anthony Edwards move to Ludlow, Maine after their actress mom/wife dies in an accident and soon Furlong finds himself caught-up with the nearby Indian burial ground. Soon pets, a**hole sheriff Gus played by Clancy Brown (I must admit he was the only interesting character in the film and quite funny to) and others are coming back from the dead changed and with quite a violent streak. This is an unneeded sequel and should have stayed buried in the dirt along with those other bad horror sequels, the only good things that happened in this horrendous sequel were Clancy Brown as Gus and the few decent gore scenes like one character melting from extreme heat and a motorcycle tire to the face but other than that it was a lousy sequel with a bad storyline, oh yeah and the ending was sloppy and quite dumb too. Avoid this film and watch the first one instead, two thumbs down!. September 26, 2008

When a hollywood actress died from a accident on the set, 13 year old Jeff (Edward Furlough) and his vet father (Anthony Edwards) move to Ludlow Maine where the Creed tragedies happened. Jeff meets a nice boy named Drew who has a nice mother and a wicked policeman stepdad named Gus (Clancy Brown) as his true friend is his dog Zowie. He's also being taunt by the local bullies and his friend lost his dog due to his cruel stepdad, but Drew knows a better way to bury him is that he must put him up there in the Micmac burial grounds to bring him back to life according to local legends. It does work but it just doesn't seem to make the dog quite the same as before as it also kills Gus whom gets to be buried in the soured grounds as it unleashes yet another terrifying evil more crueler then Gage Creed ever was.

Gory as hell sequel to the 1989 horror classic "Pet Semetary" isn't bad as some people claim to be! I thought this was a fun sequel with good amounts of gore like animals being ripped apart by the dog, throat-ripping, cannibalism and more. The acting is kind of medicore compared to the original's performances which were great by the way but there is some bizarre dreams in this movie and some nice kills by the zombies. It sure isn't like the first one but it's still a enjoyable follow-up from the same director.

The only extra this DVD has is a theatrical trailer but that's OK. August 30, 2008

..it might come back as a sequel that is even worser than this one. For the record I actually liked the first Pet Sematary. While not being the best book-to-movie adaptation, it had its moments. This one has none.

Premise: A son loses his mother in a fatal accident on a movie set. The boy's father moves to the same town that the Creed family died in. things start to happen when a boy loses his dog "Zowie" to a gunshot would by his abusive stepdad who is also a sherriff. The boy buries his dog in the same Indian burial set and things get worse from there.

Opinion: This was one pointless sequel. At least the characters in the first movie had a method in their madness. The characters in this movie are just plain stupid. The acting is bland and the story is backwards. The characters who die and come back to life have more personality as a reincarnated corpse than they did when they were alive. How insane is that? Plus this movie leaves questions unanswered? Why would Gus bury Clyde in the sacred burial ground after he killed him? It makes no sense as is the son who buries his abusive stepfather in the same burial site. If you saw that you dead dog came back to life more deranged wouldnt you think your spiteful stepdad would come back more psychotic than he originally was? I didnt feel an ounce of sympathy for that pudgy idiot when Gus killed him and his mother. Stupid! If you want a better horror movie from Stephen King check out Misery. That was a classic. Pet Sematary Two is just a rotting, flea-infested dog of a sequel that should have never made it to the cutting room floor. May 13, 2008
