Empire (2002)

i have it on tonight. just going to enjoy it even though each time i am sad by the ending.so tragic so real,but sad.

i love it. fat joe the rapper from my group terror squad was great in it!
meaning great as a "very natural"type dude in it. love his scene with his son best.
as for john l'character. wow great acting so real EACH/EVERY part to end as his boys roof scene was so correct.they were so 100% right on how his character"became"once meeting the trashy girl remember? lol played by my girl denise richardson with the white guy,etc they were right(the rooftop
bx scene)with that cute friend of his forget his name but with the black cute rapper from new jersey group(Naughty By Nature Treach)the other cute guy latino forgetting his name the actor but i love how they were trying to get through to john l.character.(Even if it did not work)until it was then TOO LATE.they were telling him like it is,but he got just too big for
,to listen to the one who"truly love him/carmen as the friend he always knew etc. had his best interest at heart.

as the white guy?trashy white chick etc. please.they did not care for him.

as they can care less if he end up dead in jail etc. that was so true. this movie is so so great. i love it so i easily give EMPIRE five ten stars easy.actually it is on now regular cable channel USA i been waiting to see it again,even though we have the DVD lol

it's just a great straight up new york bronx film,he portray a sexy papi chulo so easily. love him.john is so extremely talented"underated actor"imo he should have so much more movies.
yes he was pretty mean to carmen kickin her all out of his fly a--s whip lol but we all know that happens in real life etc. each day lol with some crazy papi chulo at times,as all she was doing was being honest with him but he realize later he truly need her love his mami chula. i love that.

as i love him more in serious drama love crime real life stuff like EMPIRE just adore him. love him sexy cute papi chulo funny and such a great actor. to me he is a great actor in this not all films but i am a fan of very few he is one and denzel,very good actors both,and i want him with her happy in the "end"but as we all know when you live the fake type of "Street so called fame life"it shall end eventually as she said they aren't really"your boys,or your friends"etc. he was hardheaded as always when you are? it end up either two places jail or dead......as in real life.love the movie forever though in my collection i watch it with mi papito a few several times a year. good night and happy new year to all of you.as a prudent hombre know when to

Pretty Decent Movie

Watching the movie Empire again for the first time in say five years I don't think it was half bad. John Leguamizo carries his first big dramatic starring role. The movie's director Franc Reyes does well with his first from the scenery to the Bronx locales. My only compliant about the film was the cliched ending. Other than that if you like gangsta hood movies then check this out. April 2, 2008

i think that this movie was great i think iit showed the gritty side of drug bussiness and when you make the wrong decision there's no way out of it.i love it cause it showed how life is for drug dealers and thier lives and drama that conquers in thier lives,and the people that are affected by all of this. Leguizamo keeps the empty Empire from crumbling

John Leguizamo (George A. Romero's Land Of The Dead, The Honeymooners) plays a hotshot street thug from the South of Bronx who winds up making a business deal with wallstreet hotshot, played by Peter Sarsgaard (the upcoming The Skeleton Key, Shattered Glass). Soon, Leguizamo's life turns upside down as he finds out that his business partner is trying to scam him. This is a very intriguing story but it leaves nothing to fill in the gaps except for a good performance by John Leguizamo which keeps this from going down in the dumps. Also starring Denise Richards (The World Is Not Enought, Valentine) as another ditzy woman with sexual ways, Rappers Fat Joe and Treach (Jason's Lyric), Nestor Serrano (The Negotiator) and a weird role for Isabella Rosselini (Death Becomes Her, Immortal Beloved) as a druglord...very weird and the hair. i liked this movie. its sort of like scarface. but its definately worth renting. i'm glad i saw it. March 30, 2005
