To the people who have a problem with the picture quality of the footage on this DVD...There really is not much that can be done. Most of this stuff is from the early days of LIVE TV and was not recording on film. So nothing can really be done with the surviving material as was done with the "I Love Lucy" episodes.
May 5, 2008It was fun to watch the lost episodes of Lucy and l am a huge Lucy / Desi / Ethel and Fred fan.
August 18, 2006I liked this DVD, although the picture quality could be miles better, I liked seeing all these guest appearences together on one DVD. I had seen clips of most of these appearences on specials, but the one for Westinghouse was a complete surprise. I liked hearing Lucy being called 'Mrs. Arnaz' for a change. I hope someday all these appearences will be restored as they should be.
August 15, 2006While the title may be somewhat deceiving (nothing on the DVD is technically episodes from any of Lucy's shows) , it's still an interesting for any Lucy Fan. This DVD features an assortment of appearances by Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, and the other cast members of "I Love Lucy" during the early days of television. In my opinion, the highlight is Lucy's appearance on the Bob Hope Show. In the sketch, the cast performs a typical episode of "I Love Lucy" with a twist. While Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance portrays Lucy and Ethel, Ricky is portrayed by Bob Hope and Fred is portrayed by Desi Arnaz. Lucy and Desi also puts in a couple of memorable appearances on Ed Sullivan's show with hilarious results (who knew Ed Sullivan actually laughed!) There's also a really fun promotional film in which Lucy and Desi give a tour of the Desilu Studios. The picture quality is not the best, but not bad enough to where it distracts from the comedy. All things considered, I would recommend this DVD for any Lucy fan or anyone looking for some really good comedy.

This is a very poor quality DVD. With all the advances in technology, nothing was done to improve or clean up any of these clips and/or sketches. Think very poor VHS quality!
