About Forces of Nature
After a wayward bird flies into the engine of his airplane, Ben is forced to find another way to his wedding. He finds himself stuck with Sarah, whom he carried from the plane after she was whacked in the noggin by his laptop. The heat between them is unmistakable, and the drama in the film comes from the "will he or won't he," both in terms of sleeping with Sarah and meeting up with his bride. Forces of Nature is a fun and sentimental road-trip film, but Ben is such a strait-laced noodge, you can't help but want him to fall flat on his face just a little. Bullock is the life of this film, although her free-spirited ways get a bit tired (responsibility is not all bad). The highlight of this movie, though, is definitely the cinematography. The beautiful rain shots and the colors of the scenes lend to the unsettling mood. While the jokes are not rip-roaring, Forces is to be reckoned with for those times when a lighthearted film is what you need. --Jenny Brown Amazon.com

So jumping from partner to partner when things don't go the way you thought or want them too and you decide that you're "not happy" just doesn't really work for the average person. All you end up doing is carry your emotional baggage to the next relationship as Sarah's character slowly unfolded. Bottom line is that Ben went through a classic infatuation episode but in the end he did the nobler thing.
If you think that marriage is going to be a perpetual dose of dopamine that will leave you elated and euphoric every day of your life then think again. You have to both make it work and keep reminding each other of what brung you together in the first place before the kids, in-laws, and career.
As for the best acting, Sandra Bullock took the prize. I enjoyed seeing her free spirited bohemian side. She basically made Ben look good.
Ironically enough though, this movie was done before the Beniffer drama - remember that? He basically had the "forces of nature" in the form of paparazzi to help him walk away from that one. Not exactly the same ending as in this movie. August 3, 2007
| when nature calls, you resond with FORCE |
| hilarious! ben affleck & sandra bullock ...funny! funny! funny! |
not because something extremely hilarious, outrageously crazy of travelling and meeting a handsome stranger happened to me because this part (of course!) did NOT happen to me.
but i could relate because perhaps, it has happened to people, where you are in one part of your life, thinking everything is as it should be, then, due to the forces of nature beyond our control, life and love gets turned upside down.
so, if its meant to be, it will happen.
sometimes, in life, we meet other people so in the end we can appreciate who we are meant to be with.
maybe that doesnt make sense but just watch the movie and you will know what i mean.
i loved this movie! March 22, 2007
