About My Date With President's Daughter

It's the classic story: boy (Will Friedle of Boy Meets World) meets girl after she eludes Secret Service, boy asks girl to high school dance, boy and girl nearly topple presidential administration. Most of this 89-minute made-for-TV movie takes place on the evening of the date, during which the young couple never actually make it to the dance, but do go on a shopping spree, watch his dad's company car get stolen, get in a fight with some rednecks, put on a magic show at a pool hall, and attend an anti-presidential protest. Dabney Coleman plays her presidential dad and Jay Thomas plays his father, who despite their political differences team up to find their wayward offspring. Part Mel Brooks madcap, part Roman Holiday for the younger set, this Disney offering manages to keep up a lively pace with some sly turns and humor that doesn't condescend. Ages 10 and older. --Kimberly Heinrichs Amazon.com

i watch this movie on the disney channle one night with my friend and we both agreed it was quite a suprise. the movie looked like an 'Old' movie AKA 1990's. so we both thought there we're going to be funny old jokes and chessy effects. i was quite suprised at how well it was put together and it was an excellent movie. i also thought at the beging of the movie that the boy will be a jerk and go crazy we're as he was the one who kept his cool when the girl went crazy and started getting bratty. so in the end this is a great movie for kids who get the consept of dating the presidents daughter and how big a deal that would be. so buy and get this movie now. it's on my wish list!

ps. for young kids, moms just to let you know my mom is always telling me not to act like the spoiled rich girls in the movie and for once i agree with her. the girl in this movie is totally unresposable and rude not to mention really bratty. December 25, 2006

This is a fun family movie. Imagine what it would be like to date the president's daughter. A lot of comic twists and turns in this one. My nine year-old son says it was a good chase movie! There were some good chases towards the end of the film. Pretty good acting and lots of belly laughs.

What I liked about this movie:
interesting plot idea

What I didn't like about this movie:
situations were too unbelievable
characters were a little flat and stereotypical
the girl kept getting them into trouble by her own stupidity, and the guy kept letting her

Summary:
a lot of kids and younger teens would probably like this movie because of the wild escapades and fast-paced plot, but viewers who like movies with realistic plots and multi-faceted characters will be disappointed November 27, 2003
