Scary Movie (2000)

If you've seen Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, then you know the entire plot of Scary Movie. That's okay, though, because this is a parody, and it helps to know the story in order to be able to get the jokes. No, the biggest surprise here is not the story as much as the amount of full-frontal male nudity. Really, in addition to all the dick jokes (and the ass jokes and fart jokes), there's a couple of shots of the male member, one of which is erect and used as a weapon. Scary Movie somehow ended up with an R rating, which in a sense is groundbreaking; perhaps our ratings board is loosening up after all.

But is it funny? That's the most important question, and the answer to that is yes. In the vein of Airplane!, with a dash of the Farrelly brothers, Scary Movie keeps throwing jokes at you one after another. The law of averages says some of them have to hit, and enough of them do to keep the movie entertaining. Unlike the makers of Airplane!, however, the Wayans brothers aren't making this movie out of a love of the genre, and unlike the Farrelly brothers, they don't make fun of retarded people with any sort of respect, so the humor throughout feels a lot uglier. Still, there are enough funny scenes in Scary Movie to make the viewing experience worthwhile. GREAT PARODY!

A really good parody! I found thuis movie quite funny! I think it was a great movie. I think it is super funny. I think it is a greatm Spoof of I Know What You Did Last Summer & Scream very funny! :) November 5, 2008

Scary Movie is a Sardonically Hilarious Movie

Scary Movie gives off a funny vibe that I think made me smile throughout the movie. You see, I'm the sort of person who loves dark humor, hence the Scary Movies. I appreciate how Scary Movie tries to make something serious a lighter subject, even though sporadically it's not that funny. Although some might not like this movie, I enjoyed it and it embellished things that you DON'T want to do or say. I loved Scary Movie and I would recommend it to anyone who loves physical and dark movies that are funny. October 11, 2008

Disgusting

It's bad enough that comedies today, whether on TV or in the movies, rely so heavily on sexual humor (a sign IMO that the writer's cannot come up with anything legitimately funny). This, however, goes far beyond sex jokes into the pronographic. September 23, 2008

Just Not Funny Anymore

Scary Movie
This movie started the idea of making parody movies. Honestly, most parody movies are horrible with a few laughs in them. It's like they are trying to hard. Scary Movie is one of the few movies that proved well done in the genre.

A serial killer who is dressed exactly like the murderer from Scream kills a woman named Drew. The police are interviewing students to try and figure out what they can. Cindy, your main character, suddenly gets messages from the killer; this is a parody of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Cindy and a group of friends actually killed a man and threw him in a lake exactly like I Know What You Did Last Summer. The entire story is a combination of the two previous movies, with a ton of humor thrown in the mix. The outcome is a pretty good.

The problem with the movie is that it gets old fast. After a watch or two, you won't have any plans to watch it again. Most of the comedy is stupid in a way that loses it's touch after awhile. The first watch will have you laughing your head off; a couple watches later will have you wishing you had your money back.

This movie would also be the spawn of many horrible parody movies. This includes Date Movie, Epic Movie, and others. I'm not taking off points for this, but I just thought it should be said. July 18, 2008

High End Vulgar Comedy!

Guys! if you have seen "Scream" and "I know what u did last summer" then this movie would be the best ever seen comedy movie for u. I would call it the dangerous comedy movie. It is actually the parody of classic horror movies filled with "high end vulgar comedy" by Wayan brothers.
