This first volume of "The Best of Friends" centers on the stormy relationship between Ross and Rachel. Is he really her lobster? Will we ever really know for sure? We will not worry about that right now. Let us just say we are on a break:

(1) "Pilot" (September 22, 1994), a.k.a. "The One Where Rachel Does Not Get Married." For the first time we meet the gang at Central Perk, where runaway bride Rachel suddenly drops into their lives. Selected as #47 by TV Guide in their list of "The 50 Best 'Friends' Moments."

(2) "The One With two Parts, Part 1 & Part 2" (February 23, 1995), is simply an episode where the deuces are wild. First of all we have Phoebe and her twin Urusla. Then we have those two hunky doctors Rachel and Monica run into at the hospital. Add to that Marcel choking on a scrabble tile, and you can see why this story was too big for one episode.

(3) "The One with All the Poker" (March 2, 1995), finds the girls joining the boys for poker. The tension for the episode comes from the fact that Rachel wants a new job and Ross wants Rachel. Can a hand of poker constitute a first date?

(4) "The One Where Ross Finds Out" (November 9, 1995), reminds us that if you drink, then do not leave phone messages. What Ross finds out is that Rachel is over him (all together now: "When were you under me?"). #9 on TV Guide's list, this is the episode that shows that two ships cannot just keep passing in the night for all eternity.

(5) "The One With the Prom Video" (February 1, 1966), provides not only our first flashback trip down memory lane to what Ross, Monica and Rachel were like way back when, it also has the best kiss in the show's history. The mix of comedy and pathos makes this a perfect episode for a steak & lobster dinner. This episode is #2 on the TV Guide list, although it was the only "Friends" episode to make the magazines list of Top Television Moments of all time.

Of course, by the time you get to Volume 2 of this set, Ross and Rachel will be suffering through the consequences of what happened when they were on a "break." Ironic, don't you think? June 23, 2002

Congrats to Friends cast and crew for making it the #1 show of the 2001-2002 season. And who thought any other show woud outbeat it?! It's awesome! Of course it's popularity would produce some dvds, and they started with the Best Of... series to see if they would sell. And they did! Therefore, we now have seasons come out on DVD.

The first Best Of... dvd contains five episodes in their uncut original form.

(1) Pilot. This is actually the first Friend ep I ever saw when I became a fan 3 seasons after the show began. And strangely, I felt liked I'd watch the show forever. I instantly liked every character with their own special quirkiness.

(2) The One with Two Parts - This episode is one of the most touching ones with Ross accepting the fact - although not readily - that he's going to be a father. George Clooney and Noah Wyle spoof their on ER characters when they guest star as two doctors that Rach and Monica make dates with. This one's great with Rach and Monica getting themselves into trouble and trying to get out of it.

(3) The One with All the Poker - This is my 2nd fav Friends ep. The guys invite the girls to play poker, and of course, the girls have no idea to play, until Monica's aunt teaches them the ropes, and it's an all out poker battle.

(4) The One Where Ross Finds Out - Ross finally discovers Rach's love for him, but he and his girlfriend Julie are ready to take the next step in a relationship. Getting a cat. There's a great part where Ross refers the cats to Julie and Rach without Julie really knowing about. And a absolutely bored Monica makes Chandler lose weight, but it begins to "kill" Chandler.

(5) The One with the Prom Video - One of the great flashback eps with fat Monica and bad-nose Rach! The gang sits around to watch an old prom video that Monica has found, only to have it reveal something sweet between Rach and Ross.

This collection of episodes is great. The cast of Friends is awesome and very talented. I love this show! I love this dvd! I love . . . friends. June 2, 2002

I love this DVD! It has five great episodes of everyone's favourite stars, Pheobie, Rachel, Monica, Ross, Joey and Channler. Here is a review of all of the episodes:

1. Pilot --- This is the first ever episode of friends where Rachel runs away from her wedding and lives with Monica.
2. The One With Two Parts --- Ross realises for the first time that he's becoming a dad. He gets really nervous, meanwhile Rachel sprains her ankle, and she goes to the hospital with Monika, but she doesn't have insurance, so they both trade places, and then they go out on dates with the two doctors.
3. The One With All the Poker --- The girls learn how to play poker and they have a big poker tournament.
4. The One Where Ross Finds Out --- Ross finds out that Rachel loves him, and she is jelous of him and his girlfriend Julie because they are getting a cat. Monica is also trying to make Channler lose weight, and he's getting sick of it.
5. The One With The Prom Video --- It's a flashback to high-school days where Monica and Rachel are getting ready for the prom.
