Dr. Seuss' classic holiday story was already adapted for the screen in a beloved animated version by Chuck Jones. This gratingly unfunny retread fails its predecessors in every way. It's just awful. October 8, 2008

rating: 5 QuoteVery good film Quote
When I was a child, I watched this film for the first time on TV. Now, I'm so glad in having this product on DVD and I watch it once and once again in Christmas time. There are new or modern versions for "The grinch" and also for "Horton" but I prefere these ancient films because they were the first and touched my heart. September 13, 2008

Some reviews talk about the color of the grinch. In the 50th Birthday Edition (2006) he is green not yellow. I love this film and I have been replacing all my VHS copies with DVDs. It had been several years since I'd seen the grinch. So, I torn open the package and popped it in and laughed like I'd never seen it. I love the remake with Jim Carrey, but nothing beats the original! August 20, 2008

I'm looking for the original (60's or 70's) television version of Horton Hears a Who that have the songs and chants like "Boil that dustpeck..."
Is that the version of Horton that is on this? March 5, 2008
