"Jericho Fever", which first aired on the USA network in December 1993, stars Stephanie Zimbalist in one of her last best TV-movie roles as a CDC doctor dispatched to New Mexico to thwart a new strain of hemmoraghic fever. The plot (at least so far as it concerns Zimbalist) is plausible, sensible, and without frills. In many ways it resembles Elia Kazan's 1950 film "Panic In The Streets" -- there are no suspenseful mass evacuations of the public or gory death scenes, just a doctor and a detective with little time to find the one individual who is immune to the disease (a criminal, of course).
Zimbalist fans will enjoy the cool, self confident performance the actress gives -- most are so inaccessible these days. October 5, 2002
