About Total Recall 2070

TOTAL RECALL 2070 is a stunning futuristic thriller about a world so high-tech, man is the only flaw! In the year 2070, the planet Earth is ruled by a single government entity and a conglomeration of corporations that hold absolute power. The crime rate is virtually nonexistent and the Citizen's Protection Bureau defends the innocent from unchecked sociotechnological forces. But when the Bureau partner of Agent David Hume (Michael Easton -- TV's ALLY MCBEAL and THE PRACTICE) is dramatically gunned down, Hume's determination to uncover the dangerous truth behind this shocking crime leads him on a pulse-pounding race through the galaxy! If you're entertained by intelligent, high-tech thrills and intrigue, you won't be able to forget this explosive motion picture!

rating: 1 QuoteThe only similarity with the original Total Recall is the film's titleQuote
This is one more film that belongs to the list of lousy sequels following an excellent movie. The script does not relate at all with the original Total Recall (Special Limited Edition), the only feature they share is the title. The plot looks like a cheap version of the sci-fi classic Blade Runner - The Final Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition), with an across the board cardboard performance, and even the special effects are too basic by today's standards. Do not waste your time watching this movie. I am so sorry I did buy it! September 16, 2008

Well I'm just basically here to echo it really is the Blade Runner TV series. If you liked the atmosphere in that Movie, then come home to the TV series Total Recall 2070. Why this didn't take off is beyond me?
Its much better than some other stuff that has had a good run, because it has actual character development. Someone mentioned a better time slot would've been more appropriate. This is a ship that shouldn't of sunk.
I came here after viewing the entire series at Hulu, looking to see how many seasons were here to purchase and wondering how this series got past my Sci-Fi fan radar, but it turns out it got past a lot of folks...and the full series isn't even on DVD?! This is one of those shows that with the correct exposure would've definitely become popular. Someones lenses in the Sci-Fi entertainment industry needs adjusting. This should've gone so much further...buts its not the first time I've seen the plug pulled on good stuff. This rocks compared to about 3 Sci-Fi other shows off the top I can think of, that had several seasons. I wish I could name them, but thats how much I cared to remember them. This one I remember. Whats up with you guys out there man, you need to bring this show back. Cutting this one was a 'lacking insight' move.

Another failed SF series. And watching it, I can understand why this one failed (even though I still cannot understand why something like JAG can survive for ten years...). First of all, the debt to Blade Runner is considerable. Cops tracking `androids,' exterior scenes garishly lit in constant rain by neon fluted with Japanese characters. And a scene midway into the story of an android wanting to extend his memory and the `cop' not killing him. In this version, he jumps off of the building instead of delivering the pithy 'tears in rain' speech. And the dialog does not approach the genre-pathos of BR.

The structure of the story revolves around a good `cop' who is chronically underappreciated by his captain. The dialog is peppered with cliches from just about every TV cop show ever written. What is tiresome is the trope of the good cop constantly doing good cop work, yet his captain somehow amazingly seems not to be able to stop yelling and berating him for it. In this series, the logic of such a relationship is broken. We can see no reason why our hero Hume keeps getting trash-mouthed by his boss, as he is consistently uncovering clue after clue in the ongoing investigation and breaking it wide open. But of course, that doesn't create much drama, so we have to have his boss be an unmitigated jerk. And the female lead/support is also tiring. Enough of bromide female characters afraid for their spouses and constantly berating them for not coming home on time or forgetting the milk. Let's face it, as a viewer, If I see this guy evade certain death and heroically perform feat after feat, i'm not going to have much sympathy for his dumbass wife. But the berating chastising/wise wife is a hallowed cliche in TV and is trotted out again and again. And boringly, everyone is beautiful - or at least, the good guys are. Skip it. August 22, 2007

I just found this series on the new internet TV phenomenon ''Joost''. What a grand shame this series got canned after 20 episodes, of which Joost has 11. This is basically Blade Runner, the series, which would have been great for T.V. The directing is very atmospheric, the acting is surprisingly believable. June 15, 2007

It is so rare these days that you can find a sci-fi series or movie that is original and not a remake or ripoff of someone else's idea. Total Recall 2070 was a complete original. My only complaint is where is the rest of the series? April 28, 2007
