Natural Born Killers (1994)

Oliver Stone would like to have the last word on America's media culture of voyeurism and violence, but whatever he's trying to say in this grisly, unconventional movie comes across terribly garbled. Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis play traveling serial killers who become television celebrities when a Geraldo-like personality (Robert Downey Jr.) turns their madness into the biggest story in the country. Stone extensively rewrote an original script by Quentin Tarantino, and he employs a mosaic of different film stocks, video, and pop pastiches to create a sense of blurred lines between visual phenomena. (The background on Lewis's character's life as an abused child, for instance, is presented as a sitcom starring Rodney Dangerfield.) But the result of these experiments is a pompous, even amateurish effort at grasping the reins of a real-life national debate. One almost wants to tell Stone to sit down and raise his hand next time if he thinks he has something to say. Awesome Mastering

Above great picture and sound there comes a great booklike packaging featuring a booklet on the left and the disc on the right hand side. Beyond the proper restauration of this mediacritic masterpiece it's also dubbed in German 5.1, French 5.1, Italian 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with region unlocked...so importing is an A1 option :o) July 20, 2008

Director's cut is much better..

I was dissapointet because of this version of the movie.
There are so many cuts in relation to the director's cut on my old dvd.

Great Blu Disc!

I watched my VHS of Natural Born Killers about 50 times. I didn't buy the DVD version because I thought that maybe Oliver Stone (or Warner) will produce a special-director's cult edition full of extras footage in near future. Now, finally in BD, I did a great deal: clear crystal image, perfect sound and a beautiful booklet. It couldn't be better! July 18, 2008

Sick and twisted.

Natural Born Killers directed by Oliver Stone is one sick film. I watched this film when I was a teenager and boy this serial killer flick made me physically sick. Woody Harrleson and Juliette Lewis play the love-struck killers and of course Lewis's character was abused as child, jeez you would think so!? The editing of this film is so choppy, hope you don't get motion sickness, stay away from this mess! July 11, 2008
