Mao Wei returns from the Yenwon Reformatory Division, to find his former love, Annie (Vivian Hsu), well on the way to marrying another man. He prevents the marriage and works his way back into her heart. Soon after, they marry. Still a virgin, Annie is looking to finally make love to her husband. Unfortunately, flashbacks to his brutal treatment in prison, prevents him from being able to fulfill their mutual wish. Feeling inadequate and depressed, he leaves Annie, wishing for her to find another man. She eventually does, but still longs for Mao Wei. After becoming pregnant by the other man, she finds Mao Wei and begs him to return and father the baby. November 11, 2007

This is basically a remake of Andrei Konchalovsky's MARIA'S LOVERS, with Vivian Hsu in the Nastassja Kinski role. It's not as artful and is a bit more graphic than the original, but with the adorable Ms. Hsu doing her (frequently naked) thing, it's tough to judge it too harshly. Adjust your expectations accordingly. December 28, 2005

Just wanted to comment to the initial review saying that Vivian Hsu was cashing in on her stardom. Vivian actually made this BEFORE she got really popular. It's a good film if you like Vivian. May 16, 2003

I just can't find anything positive to say about this film. It's one of those instances when a celeb (Vivian Hsu/Tsui/Whatever) is capitalizing on her stardom to make a soft-core flick. The editing is so bad it's almost funny. I think I've been Americanized/white-washed 'cause I can't make any sense out of this flick. It'd be one thing if it's an honest erotic/porn flick, but it's trying to tell an incoherent story about two people I couldn't care less about. Culture gap? Maybe. I hope so. October 30, 2002
