About Baby Animals at Uncle Larry's Farm

Baby Animals Ever since Baby Songs appeared on video in 1986, the video market has been inundated with original songs for kids. While the break from commercially driven products and TV show characters has been nice, the niche has been overloaded by subpar entertainment. Baby Animals has found a fresh approach to this genre. Here are nine songs all sung in the first person, er, animal, about ducklings, chicks, piglets, and other animals found on a real farm in Colorado. A children's choir sings bouncy tunes about each animal ("I am a colt, look at meĀ / frisky, flowing and running free"). Surprisingly nonrepetitive and for kids who love animals, this video is the next best thing to visiting a country farm. Stephen Vidano wrote the songs and directed the video. Named by Parenting magazine as one of 1999's top videos for kids. --Doug Thomas Amazon.com

This video shows nine baby animals and each segment has kids singing the tune for that animal. It is an extremely well-produced video and a nice change from the usual kid videotapes. The cassette tape matches all 11 songs (beginning & ending songs & nine animal songs) and I agree that the songs are not Grammy winning material, but they are cute rhyming songs that the kids can happily sing along with! My 3 1/2 yr. old loves to sing with both video and audio tapes. We have had it for about a year and it is by far her favorite videotape & cassette. January 1, 2001

When my toddler went into his "moo" "woof" "quack" stage, I wanted to get him a video which showed the animals and gave their sounds. This video was a big disappointment. There are less than 30 seconds of animal noises out of a half-hour video, and instead we are forced to listen to wooden, mechanical, forced rhymes, DUMB DUMB songs. "Uncle Larry's Farm, where the animals have such charms" just an example.

A tremendous fun film of precious baby animals would appeal to every age. The music, songs and children's voices are outstanding. It's no wonder this was an award winning video according to "Parenting" magazine. It's wonderful and I plan to order more as gifts for family and special friends! We recently purchased this video so that we would have it available for our grandchildren to watch. We are very happy with the entire content. The music is wonderful and the constant action in the video keeps the little ones at rapt attention. We highly recommend this to grandparents as most wholesome way to entertain little ones.
