Wong Jing ruins the series

Unfortunately, Stephen Chow does not go back to school, but goes undercover as a millionaire. The millionaire has just been killed and Chow looks just like him, so he goes undercover to find out who the murderer is. One of the only good things about this movie is that Chow and his girlfriend play the same characters. His girlfriend (the school counselor in the first movie) of course doesn't want him to go undercover and she promises to stab him with an ice pick if he does. Since Chow is always making mistakes as a cop, he is forced to go undercover. Luckily for us viewers, Anita Mui is the millionaire's wife. Chow acts like he has lost his memory and does his best to convince Mui that he is her husband.

The story goes nowhere. The first 2 Fight Back to School movies were great because he was in school, and every moment was funny. I ended up getting quite bored with this, but there is some sort of magic to Wong Jing's craziness such as when Chow drives an elevator like it's a race car. There is not nearly enough craziness, but it ends up being watchable. And while the movie is bad, it does have a good ending.

There aren't any action scenes, except a couple very brief moments, and that wouldn't be a problem if the movie wasn't so boring. Leave it to Wong Jing to take a new path and ruin a great series. Wong Jing is just a hack director, but this movie does actually make sense, and he rarely pulls that off.

Another Hit for the Devine Ms. M of Asia

I'm not going to convince you that this is a great story line, but think Jim Carey in Chinese. Stephen Chow is Carey's equal in Hong Kong and famous for his comedy take offs on HK films. The saving grace of the movie is the perfomance of Anita Mui. Be honest - she's great in just about everything she does and her immitation of Sharon Stone in "Basic Instinct" is golden.
