This is a story of determination, conquering fears and realizing dreams. Set in Sheffield, England where the only career choices for many involves working in the brewery or the mines, this film depicts the struggle to achieve one's dream. Sean Bean fans will be rewarded with his extraordinary acting in a well written role that also gives Sean his chance to show off his skill as a footballer for the Sheffield Blades.(Soccer Club to those states-side.) Sean Bean plays the part of Jimmy Muir, a hard drinking brewery worker with the dream of becoming a footballer for his favorite club. Craig Kelly, playing Jimmy Muir's younger brother, is the believable character who helps Jimmy to find the determination succeed at football. Pete Postlethwaite as Ken Jackson shines as the coach who gives Jimmy the chance to shine. Emily LLoyd as Annie Doherty, is beautiful, talented, and a worthy love interest for Sean Bean's character, Jimmy Muir. August 9, 2005

Jimmy Muir lives a dreary life in dreary Sheffield, Britain. In the beginning of the movie it's made clear to him that he has 2 choices, either he will spend his life in the coal-mine or he's spend it in the steel industry. He choses the latter. But Jimmy Muir has one talent, football (as the Brits call it) and at a late age it becomes his one last chance out. Will he make it? His tendency for drinking too much beer sure doesn't help! But he does have two things going for him: a love interest and a coach that believes in him. For Sean Bean this was also a dream come true. Born and raised in Sheffield, with as much prospects as Jimmy Muir, his greatest dream was to play for his favorite football team. Obviously he didn't make that but all the better for us fans, who love to see him in a role that suits him like a glove. All in all a feel-good movie that every body can enjoy. May 2, 2000
