I basically bought this CD for the Miami Vice Theme Song. There are a few good songs, but I'm a little disappointed overall. April 24, 2008

I own three collections of Miami Vice music, and this was the first. I note that none of these albums includes all the songs, or even all the key songs. Missing from any that I own, for instance, are Ted Nugent's incomparable "Little Miss Dangerous", and Sheena Easton's performances. Still, this album includes several of the best Miami Vice themes ever: Glen Frey's hard to find "Smuggler's Blues" and "You belong to the City", as well as Chaka Khan's "Own the Night" and Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight". None of these collections is perfect, but this one is a good starter, and I still listen to them all. Finally, one can still catch all of these songs and the shows they accompanied on the Sleuth channel.

When you listen to this CD, it brings back the actual feeling of the 80's, as well as the program itself. The songs are relevant even in today's world. The instrumentals by Jan Hammer are truly masterpieces! January 26, 2007
