About Chris Isaak - Baja Sessions

Chris Isaak's Baja Sessions was inspired by a surfing trip the singer took with his band to the Baja California section of Mexico. As the salt in their hair dried in the sun, the four musicians sat around with acoustic guitars and a small drum set, and played some tunes from Isaak's previous albums, some of his unrecorded originals, and some of his favorite old songs by the likes of Roy Orbison, Gene Autry, and Arthur Lyman. The quartet so enjoyed the laid-back, mostly acoustic, Spanish-tinged flavor of these vacation jams that when they got home to the Bay Area, they recreated them in the studio. Baja Sessions is like an Unplugged album, except the sun-drenched, south-of-the-border mood gives these remakes a far fresher twist than most such projects. --Geoffrey Himes Amazon.com

I got two of these Baja sessions. I give one to my brother and he really enjoyed it as much as I. It does make a great Christmas present. My favorite song is... I Wonder... Thanks so much... Rowdy Yates November 23, 2007

I heard "I Wonder" being played while watching the movie Fools Rush In. I rewind it and listened to it again. It is an incrediable song so I went to the credits to see who sang it. Went and purchased the CD and it has become one of my personal favorites.

I had never heard his music before but now have several of his CD's. This one is still my favorite. Very smooth and cool. I Wonder is still my favorite song and have since heard it in other movies. November 19, 2007

A co-worker had brought in this CD to play at work; I liked it so much I got my own copy. There's not a bad song on it, reminds me of Elvis and Roy Orbison. Very reflective and nostalgic, and its good. October 19, 2007

After working through some serious issues on "Forever Blue," this was kind of a surprise release the following year. Some delightful re-interpretations of his own work and some covers, notably a glistening version of "only The Lonely." Not seminal work, but a very nice album. August 28, 2007
