But even so, this is a must-own album for Barbra Streisand fans. While she does not perform on all tracks, the ones she does perform on are far and away the soundtrack's best offerings. "Just Leave Everything to Me," written specifically for the movie, is a wonderful introduction, "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" is great fun, and extremely catchy, "Before the Parade Passes By," while clearly an attempt to recreate "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl, is still well done, and the title song, a duet with Louis Armstrong, is fantastic, if a bit overlong.
Unfortunately, the songs not featuring Barbra are not worth listening to at all. They are dull, not sung well, and just try to fill up space in what was probably promoted as a Barbra Streisand album. Because of that, I can only give this album three stars. Buy it for her tracks (which are 5-stars at least), but skip the rest. January 5, 2008
