...this album is missing the movies biggest hit, which makes it dissapointingly incomplete-apple pie without the ice-cream-how insensitive...

I also loved the movie, and I knew as I sat in the theatre I had to own the soundtrack. Independent Love Song is great, and I enjoy the upbeat nature of the other lyrical songs; but the best part about this CD is the instrumentals. We all buy soundtracks to hear the new releases by popular artists and FF through the movie "theme song" by whatever orchestra. But these songs are wonderful - they really convey emotion, and are great to listen to at work, home, anywhere. July 25, 2001

I loved this movie, and bought the soundtrack because of the song "Independent Love Song" by Scarlet. I also assumed that "The Right Place" and "Insensitive" would be on the cd, but they weren't. Pity. There were 2 other songs, "Nervous Heart" and "Killing Time" that I don't care for at all; I just fast-forward right through those. In spite of those small flaws, I really love this soundtrack. And because I enjoyed "The Right Place" so much, I bought the Eddi Reader cd, and am now an avid fan! If you liked the movie, buy the cd; you won't regret it! July 22, 2000

Bed of Roses is one of my favourite movies and like another viewer over here wrote, I too absolutely had to have the soundtrack..the music given by Michael Convertino does what every background score should do - it adds an aura to the scenes and accentuates the character and the situation. The sound of his scores reminds me of stars and planets, it refers to the star-planet chandelier that Lewis(Christian Slater) in the movie has..There is this dreamy, other-worldly melody of these scores that is very soothing. About the actual 4 songs, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed that they did not include 2 very beautiful songs which are there in the movie - the one that I recall is the song 'Insensitive'. The absence of those two songs is certainly felt! But the 2 songs that seem to be a sort of replacement - Nervous Heart and Killing Time are not bad at all. As a matter of fact they grow on you and both have a really nice pop-rock beat..SO..if you liked the movie, you should have this soundtrack..if not to feel the "aura", at least for the amazing, ecstatic and simply fantastic 'Independent Love Song', it more than compensates for any reservations you may have against this soundtrack! As for Michael Convertino, the guys a maestro, seldom is it that a movie score is so intricately linked to every nuance of the movie - this guy does it! May 4, 2000

I have not heard the CD yet, but am dieing to own it! Every time I watch the movie, it reminds me of the song "What the World Needs Now Is Love" from the soundtrack "My Best Friend's Wedding. I always feel that all that girl needed was love! I also love the funny lines in it like, her best friend's answering message. "HI. You can leave a message if you want to. But if you don't, I'll understand. Everybody should see the movie and buy the CD! January 23, 2000
