This CD is certainly not for those looking for POP music. The theme song is performed by two different vocalists, one female, and one male and they both do an amazingly beautiful job with it; very classy. The man who plays the harmonica is also talented. I also love the narrative of the story on the second half of the CD - it makes me smile when I think of Brenda and Jasmine doing their magic tricks for the guests of the Bagdad Cafe. So great.
December 14, 2008The only reason to buy this album is to get "Calling You." This music works much better in this great movie rather than a stand alone sound track.

I remembered watching Bagdad Cafe and wanting the soundtrack so much, especially because of Jevetta Steele's "Calling You" but when i purchased the CD i was sorely disappointed in its quality. Essentially "Calling You" is the only listenable song. I didn't look closely enough at the track titles either, so i was also disappointed to find that although the jacket lists 20 tracks, the CD only has 8 songs. (rip off)
I am not amused.
April 6, 2008I love it and play it over and over. I received it quickly and the product, though used, was in excellent condition.
And then, because I loved the music , I sent for the movie! The CD is habit forming.
January 4, 2007This is one of my favorite movies! The music is haunting and I love the desert atmosphere. Jack Palance was a joy to watch. To me it meant that sometimes all you need is someone to believe in you to rise above and beyond. I find it in small businesses all the time. The spouse or partner just isn't into the dream as much as you are.
