Kyle Howard is one of many of my favorite younger actors. He was absolutely wonderful in ADDRESS UNKNOWN. He scores again with this one. It is quite different than Address Unknown. Surprisingly, Howard is able to play both sides of a character- dramatic in Address Unknown, hilarious in this, and according to the reviews, he is also hilarious in "HOUSE ARREST", which I have never seen. This movie I had seen at least once, and I remembered it. I also remembered that I liked it. I had remembered the key plots to the movie, but I did not remember some of the characters at all, such as Gunther's parents, the bullies, or Gunther's brother. The bullies, though, are insanely stupid, and, at the end, never seem to want to give up- until the geese are released. But the main driving force behind Gunther's character is that he seems like a loser on the outside, but has a good and kind heart on the inside. It just takes some characters more time to see it, such as his parents or his fellow soldiers in the Paper Brigade. But the widow Hansen and Allison Robbins seem to know it immediately. Allison is disappointed when she finds out that Gunther gave up the paper routes to the bullies. The widow Hansen stays with Gunther throughout the entire movie, never faltering, but always knowing that Gunther will do his part to keep their relationship that they have together intact. To her, Gunther is the companion and the gentleman that she has needed since her husband died. It also takes Gunther a long time to realize that he has this attributes. The other characters bring them out through being his friend, companion, whatever. This ends my review of THE PAPER BRIGADE.

I can't stand this movie anymore. I see it like four times a month! It's the same old thing. Boy moves to new town and falls in love with girl. Boy becomes part of nerdy paperboy brigade to pay for concert tickets from girl's ex-boyfriend. Boy and brigade take revenge on bullies with Home Alone-style pranks. Boy gets girl. Everyone's happy. The End! Just destroy every copy! January 16, 2005

They play this movie all the time on Disney, and I never get tired of it. The characters are just so ridiculous and stupid, it cracks me up every time. And the Certifiable guy, oh.... so amusing. This is basically about this guy who has unrequited love for this girl who is (supposed to be, at least) very attractive, but these evil bullies thwart his plans for taking her to some concert by taking over his paper route. so in the end, they all band together to get the bad guys.

classic. August 29, 2003
