| | A Cult Classic - Only VHS | |
I never saw these actors before and have no idea who they are or what they are doing now, but this is a piece of work you will either really enjoy or hate. The odd thing is that it reminds me of some of the people I knew in school. They weren't grave robbers, but some of them could have acted in this movie without much effort. The acting is first rate for a semi-gruesome flick.

The Grave is about two convicts played by Craig Sheffer (Fire In The Sky, Dracula II: Ascension) and Josh Charles (Coldblooded, SWAT) who bust out of the prison with the help from a security guard, that is John Diehl (Jurassic Park 3, Fail Safe(2000). The 2 escape to find fortunes in a grave but Charles is shot, so Sheffer takes him to Anthony Michael Hall (Weird Science, The Breakfast Club), Donal Louge (Blade, Reindeer Games) and Max Perlich (Drugstore Cowboy, Tv's Buffy The Vampire Slayer) for help. Things go off schedule as Charles dies, Sheffer is left for dead and the rascals Perlich, Louge and Hall try to figure things out. Sheffer isnt dead, Perlich gets killed and the 3 (Hall, Sheffer and Louge) find the fortunes but things get even more twisted as they are locked in the secret room and then the fit really hits the shan from there. This is told by a voiceboxed mystery person and Keith David (Pitch Black, Requiem For A Dream) is along for the ride. Now this movie began dumb and ended dumb because it was so damn perdictable because I knew off the bat who the voiceboxed person was, it was the chick damnit! The chick was played by Gabrielle Anwar (The Guilty, Things To Do In Denver When Your Dead). Also starring Eric Roberts (National Security, The Specialist) and Giovanni Ribisi (Suburbia, The Mod Squad). Not much fun and they didnt eat any posums at all, why not!!!
August 9, 2004 | | Far too good to be lost in an ocean of [bad] movies... | |
I was lucky enough to catch this movie on HBO one late night a few years back... And was smart enough to pop in a vcr tape and dub it off... WHY WON'T THEY RELEASE THIS MOVIE ON DVD?!... ...This movie kicks ...... The cast and acting both are great... There are a seldom few movies I can watch over and over and everytime pay as close of attention as I did the first night I saw it... This is one of those movies... I can't understand why it has been such an unknown film... Donal Logue (Blade, and now the star of the hit tv series "Grounded For Life") stars in this movie, and it is his best performance i've ever seen... I LOVE HIS CHARACTER... It is my favorite in the entire movie... The pairing of "Travis, Boo, and Cletus" is classic... If you haven't seen this movie, I strongly suggest you do... My rating out of 5 is a 10...
