I remembered watching this movie as a child so I decided to get it. It's not quite like I remembered, there are a lot of songs sung in this movie, which it definitely not my thing. It could be compared to a bad disney sequel, however, I still love how John and his brother try to get their dad to let them open presents at midnight, because technically it's the 25th. My favorite parts are usually revolved around Odie, especially when he makes the back scratcher for Garfield. December 8, 2006

First and foremost, as all of the other recent reviewers have mentioned: this Garfield special is now on a Holiday Celebrations DVD with two others. I own a vast collection of Garfield VHS tapes and I'm probably going to make the switch to DVD in the near future.

A Garfield Christmas really captures the holiday spirit. This is by far my favorite Christmas special. The music, the mood, the emotion, the surprise, even the atmosphere - it's all expressed and felt by this special! I watch this every year at Christmas time and it really makes me feel part of the Garfield family. I especially love the part with Garfield and grandma together.

Regardless of how many times I watch it over and over I will never get tired of seeing this special every Christmastime, and look forward to sharing it with my children one day.! August 6, 2006

A Garfield Christmas is not my all time favorite Christmas special but I do like it a lot and think it's cute and charming and I enjoyed watching how Garfield goes from being so greedy by just wanting every thing given to him to his realizing how nice and rewarding it is to also give gifts to others, All the characters are great, Garfield, Odie, Jon, the parents, the dorky brother and the kooky grandma. I'm very pleased that this has finally been put on DVD along with the other Garfield Holiday Specials. October 18, 2005

As another reviewer pointed out, this wonderful special is now on DVD under the name of Garfield's Holiday Celebrations which collect a Garfield Halloween, Thankgiving, and Christmas into one great DVD. Awesome because this is a very good special that up until last year you could only see if you happened to find a copy on VHS somewhere.

A Garfield Christmas was first shown in 1987. Garfield, Odie and Jon spend a family Christmas at the farm home where Jon grew up and with his family. It's funny because Garfield is his usual crabby self until the Christmas spirit finally grabs him. Fun songs as well. A great special. Definietely get the DVD! September 28, 2005

I noticed that many of you seem sad about not being able to find this movie. I noticed that it is on a DVD called "Garfield Holiday Celebrations (1985)" I just found it here on AMAZON. I hope this is helpful for all of you. I know I looked for a long time. August 25, 2005
