Unfortunately it is not the greatest, but it is one of the few available. Some good stuff. November 14, 2008

Somewhere between the rambunctious Benny Hill and the laid back humor of Dave Allen are The Two Ronnies, two bespectled gents who put out some funny shows on British TV. Their comedy ranges from satire to slapstick, and it's all funny. December 21, 2001

This writer agrees with the reviewer from Naples, who wonders if this tape indeed contains the best of The Two Ronnies. Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett are very funny men, together and individually, and this collection follows the standard Two Ronnies format of a comic newscast, comedy sketches (in a tavern, in an optician's shop, outside a movie theater), musical numbers in costume (a barbershop routine and a nautical novelty with the stars in drag), and a spot of storytelling by Corbett. The individual clips are amusing, but we've seen better and funnier by the team. One pleasant surprise was the appearance of Sam Kelly (of the hit British series "Allo, Allo" and the recent Gilbert & Sullivan movie "Topsy Turvy") as one of the singing barbers. If you've never seen The Two Ronnies in action (or if you fondly remember them from PBS broadcasts), this tape will give you 45 minutes of pleasant viewing and quite a few laughs, but because of the uninspired choice of material it isn't the wall-to-wall laughfest it could have been. I live in the United Kingdom , where The 2 Ronnies are put on TV at Christmas and Easter. I recently bought this video from Amazon.co.uk. And i found it short and not a lot of choice in sketches. I also bought "Comedy Greats: The Two Ronnies" This video produced by the BBC and is 1hr and 25mins long and is much better than "The Best Of..." I really recommend this VHS...on Amazon.co.uk ... but it is hilarious and includes some of their best sketches including the St Botolphs Country Dancing Team and Swedish Made Easy. Before each sketch the year is shown when it was first shown. If anyone can recieve BBC Prime (the worlds equivalent to BBC1,BBC2 etc..) maybe their show will be on at Christmas. I was slightly disapointed as my favourite sketch wasnt shown..the sketch includes Stephen Fry as Modern Man, Ronnie Barker as Renaisance Man and Ronnie Corbett as a Pleb. Anyway i think that this video isnt as good as Comedy Greats video and that maybe you should purchase that video before this one. August 9, 2001

I remember watching this show back in the good old days of imported British Comedy (with Marty Feldman, Monty Python's Flying Circus, etc.) I also remember that I enjoyed it immensely. Unfortunately, I did not get nearly as much enjoyment from this "Best Of" video. Is it a poor choice of sketches, or is my memory overly rosy? Whichever the case, I was disappointed in this video. It contains one of each type of sketch (one Ronnie Corbett story, one newscast, one musical comedy sketch, etc.), without the spontaneity or energy of the original show. And while admittedly some of the material is now dated, I also remember some much funnier sketches. Oh well. February 29, 2000
