A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors (1987)

 Should have ended here. 3.5 stars to me
This to me is by far the best of the sequels. And to tell the truth... That's not saying a damn thing when you look at how lackluster the sequels are. Freddy officially became horrors "Ace Ventura" in this one.

Now, the movie is definitly entertaining but innovation and the return of familiar faces is the key here. The new main character Christian(Patricia Arquette) has the ability to pull people into her dreams. This new addition adds a great deal to the movies plot. Nancy(Heather Langenkamp) returns older to offer her experiance dealing with Freddy.

Freddy was pretty good in this one as the dark tormentor. But I feel his oneliners could have been limited. The creative deaths and dream sequences were well done. The "Dream Warriors" concept was used very well. Giving these teens a fighting chance against Freddy in his world. I really did enjoy this. The acting was pretty well done but some of the cast were clearly rough around the edges. The ending was a great way to cap this off and it should have ended here.

The biggest problem is that it's not scary at all but it's not a waste of time. NOES 3 was a really good sequel. I didn't like anything else the same after this one. Along with the original, these two I watch the most. The last batch and part two has just been rotting in my collection until now. April 1, 2008

 Great Film
NOES 3 is a great entry into the series. It marks an excellent recovery from the pathetic NOES 2. This film is truly dark in its style, and there is also good acting. The ex-junkie girl Taryn is great with her mohawk, leather outfit and 'tough girl' attitude. March 5, 2008

 The best Nightmare of them all
A teenage girl [Patricia Arquette] is tormented in her dreams by Freddy [Played better than ever before by Robert Englund]. When she's sent to a psychiatric ward, Freddy contiunes his bloody rampage there. Unlike the forgettable movie before this, This has a fine story, Awesome murder scenes, Freddy is more diabolical than ever, and this movie surpasses every other movie in the series! Not even the first movie is better than this one! This one's got it all: Good acting, A great cast [Even includes a younger Laurence Fishburne as a worker at the psychiatric ward] Good special effects, A dark, atmospheric setting, Unpredictability, It's funny, and some of Freddy's most memorable moments are contained in this movie. It's also nice to see that Heather Lagenkamp is back in this movie [Believe me, She's tougher than ever in this one!] Another highlight of the movie is Craig Wasson [Perhaps best known for Body Double], Who plays a somewhat naive doctor who's in charge of the teens at the ward. And even John Saxon is back [Though not for long, And he gets snuffed at the end, Which is too bad]. This was the true sequel to the first movie. Yep, This was the best of the Nightmare series indeed. The Freddy movies would never be this good again. September 19, 2007

 old enemies, new heroes
When I first saw this one it hadn't made too much sense to me till I saw the first and then it filled a lot of questions. Personally, I thought that was probably the best of the sequels since it picked up where the first left off and brought it to a new area. But if there had to be one problem with this one it would be with that one doctor since she did not want to listen to the kids and the ending result of that was that half the kids were killed. Also it seems that in every movie that there is always one interfering grown-up and it always comes to the same thing and that is they've got to go against the clock before that character is killed. There were some really good parts in the film I thought that some of the best scenes in this were when they were showing off their powers, and I liked the fight between their doctor and Freddy's skeleton, as well. All in all, I found this one to be really good. Check this one out, you won't be disappointed. August 7, 2007
