Resurrection is an edge of your seat serial killer suspense. The movie takes several twists and turns and will keep you guessing. August 5, 2006

This wasn't bad at all. It does bear a strong resemblance to SEVEN but its interesting enough in its own right to warrant at least one viewing. The film looks great, all washed-out greens and blues and grays--and it benefits from the restless, edgy camera-work by Jonathan Freeman. There is a surprisingly good performance from Christopher Lambert. Leland Orser also provides strong support as Lambert's partner. The film breaks down and becomes somewhat predictable by the 3rd act; there are a few too many car chases and shoot-outs,and the rooftop showdown with the villain dangling a rubber-looking baby over the rainy precipice is actually rather laughable, but for the first two-thirds, RESURRECTION is pretty gripping. It's nice to see the director Russell Mulcahy teaming up with Christopher Lambert again. Perhaps its their long association that has enabled Lambert to give one of his best performances; when actors form working partnerships with specific directors, the results usually get better and better as their collaborations progress. I enjoyed this film more than ALONG CAME A SPIDER.

Having watched just the first three or four minutes of this straight-to-video thriller, I knew that all people involved in this movie were big "Se7en" fans. The references are so obvious that one must praise the makers for not even trying to disguise their main sorce of inspiration. But at the same time this movie doesn't just copy that great modern classic by David Fincher, it alters it at the same time, trying to offer new form to solid but all-too-known material.
The creepy and dark, sometimes too dark cinematography is being cut up in a manic editing, and in stead of long silent camera poses, this movie uses seemingly uncontrolable handheld camera movements; and effectively so.

And so a sinister, dark world is being imposed on all of us, and in it are two cops: The anoyed-by-anything Christopher Lambert, walking around with a troubled mind, and Leland Orser (talk about references to "Se7en"!) as his wise-cracking side kick. And of course there is the deranged but highly intelligent serial killer who leaves clues to find and a Message with a capitel M to ponder on.
And yes, there is the sub-plot explaining why our main protagonist has become a quiet loner, there is the race against about every clock you can spot, there are the necessary twists-in-the-tale and the obligate stinger at the end - The Revelation Of The Reason For All This Misery That Has Cometh Upon Us for a mere 1 ½ hour.

If you take it all too seriously, you will be left behind disappointed and robbed of your money. But if you menage to go along with the ride and be prepared to share the enthusiasm the makers so obviously had in making this delicious pulp gourmet, you will have something to chew on.

But be warned: what you will be chewing on has an horrible decaying smell to it, and it only gets worse after that...

Great film. A sick religious fanatic serial killer tries to ressurect Christ by killing 33 year old white males and taking a limb from each to recreate the boddy of the Lord. Definately a new kind of drama. Very original and thrilling. Your kids need to see this cause of the blood with a man's leg and head being off. October 9, 2005

Lifeless direction mars this Seven-like cops-vs.-serial killer thriller, but somehow it manages to keep you glued.
