A well made movie that takes a hard look at human nature. We like to think that we're better than "them", but are we? Not an easy watch for the heart, but well worth the time if you want an education on what the results of a social breakdown are. Compares well with the movie "Harrison's Flowers" (in context, though a different story). October 19, 2007

Denis Quaid plays a unique roll in Savior. The war in Bosnia between Muslims, Serbs and Croats is raging. This movie has action, suspense, and music that is out of this world. A great film, with a great story. September 26, 2007

Although the story ends on a sad but positive note I found it to be extremely thought provoking (provocative).
The message I received from the movie was that there are people who are just plain evil no matter what, and people who, despite their grief and anger will in the end do good. I think the movie is an outstanding reflection of the human condition. May 15, 2007

Directed by Peter Antonijevic and starring Dennis Quaid, Kosta Andrejevic and Aleksandra Borodenko, "Savior" is a strong drama portraying some of the events that occured in Bosnia. Dennis Quaid is a Foreign Legion soldier who detests Islam and Muslims. He dons the Serbian Guard uniform in the Bosnian conflict, fighting against the Bosniaks.

Raised in a foreign culture, Guy (Quaid) is taken aback by the cruelty of the locals, either towards other nationalities, or even towards their own. Guy is placed in a situation in which he has to decide between his military training and objectiveness (as far as the side he chose to fight for is concerned) and his own moral objections.

The movie is good in that it shows the viewer all three sides as committing crimes against humanity - not just the Serbs, but also Croats, as well as Bosniaks. This is a refreshing change from many biased, and/or politically correct films on the subject. Truth is that all the sides in the conflict committed atrocities that may baffle the Western mind, but which have been occuring and reocurring in the Balkans for centuries.

I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a fair portrayal of the conflict in Bosnia(even if it is a fraction of it). The movie sometimes lacks a story and has slow periods loaded with fillers, but if one can get past those, the story itself is very engaging. April 12, 2007

rating: 5 QuoteA very good Sniper movie. Quote
Among all the others, I believe many would say Enemy at the Gate is the best sniper movie in the market. But no. That commercially great success barely showed us anything about the reality of a war, especially the tragic balkan war. But the Savior did. It even goes beyong the war, and the brutal killings, all the way into questioning humanity itself.

For too long, we have been told the Serbs are the only bad guys. All the other sides are angels with wings. But this movie tells us, nobody's hands are clean, in that brutal war of population cleasing. I hope there would be more movies like this to show us honesty.

I strongly recommed this movie.

And I predict they won't sell many copies of this in Arab countries. March 15, 2007
